Hi there! We’re Lisa & Brian, the husband-and-wife team behind While You Wander Pet & Plant Care. 👋🏼 We live in Hamilton Park with our sweet senior pup Pascal, a 15-year-old adopted Pomeranian who is truly the light of our lives. 🥰 We love animals, Jersey City, spending time outdoors, and caring for our neighbors’ pets and plants just as much as our own.

Our journey began in 2021, shortly after moving to Jersey City. Just three weeks after settling in, I (Lisa) lost my mom. She had raised my younger sister, who lives with disabilities, as a single parent. When my older sister became her full-time guardian—leaving her job to care for our little sister—I wanted to find a way to help support them.

What started as walking dogs for extra income quickly grew into something more meaningful. I’ve always loved animals, but I never expected the healing they’d bring me. Walks filled with sunshine, fresh air, and wagging tails became my therapy in grief. The pups we care for aren’t just clients; they’ve become my earth angels.

With Brian’s encouragement, I took the leap into full-time pet care in 2023. What began as a side hustle has become a career rooted in compassion, trust, and community. Along the way, Jersey City has become our home—we’ve built connections, supported our neighbors, and discovered joy in caring for what people love most.

Over time, our services expanded naturally. While I was growing this business, my love for plants blossomed, too. Adding plant and home care felt like a natural way to care for families even more completely.

Today, While You Wander exists so you can step out the door with peace of mind—knowing your pets, plants, and home are cared for with safety, compassion, and a whole lot of heart. ❤️

(Fun fact: Outside of While You Wander, Lisa is also the founder of We Are Women Owned, a community that uplifts women-owned small businesses, and Brian works as a software engineer. But our favorite title of all will always be “Pascal’s parents” and caretakers of our neighborhood fur friends.)
